THE DOCTRINE OF THE WORD OF GOD
The Bible alone, including all of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is divine special revelation, the original autographs of which were produced by the plenary verbal inspiration of God’s Holy Spirit. The Bible is trustworthy, true, inerrant, infallible, sufficient and supremely authoritative in all that it reveals. It is through Scripture that one gains access to that revelation of God which is redemptive. General revelation is, of itself, insufficient. The Bible is supremely authoritative and sufficient for all matters of faith and practice. Any and all personal illumination is, by its nature, not authoritative and must be corrected by and made subordinate to Scripture.
THE DOCTRINE OF GOD THE FATHER
God is a Person who has revealed Himself as a Trinity in unity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit – three Persons and yet one God. He is eternal (without beginning and without end), immutable, sovereign, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, transcendent, immanent, holy, just, loving, merciful, truthful, faithful and perfect; the Creator, Preserver and Judge of all that exists. He is personally interested in and active in the affairs of those He created in His image, and has been continually at work throughout all human history.
THE DOCTRINE OF GOD THE SON
Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is the exact image of the invisible God, which is to say, He Himself is God. He took upon Himself our likeness, being conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. In doing so, He was/is true God and true man, existing in one Person and without sin. He died upon the Cross as the representative and substitutionary sacrifice for the sin of all the world. He arose from the dead, ascended into heaven glorified, where He is now the interceding High Priest of all believers. He will come again, personally and visibly in glory, to judge the living and the dead and consummate His kingdom in heaven.
THE DOCTRINE OF GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit spoke/speaks of Christ, indwells and gives life to believers, enables them to understand Scripture, empowers them for godly living and equips them to glorify God through obeying the Great Commandments and fulfilling the Great Commission.
THE DOCTRINE OF MAN
Man was/is created in the image of God and thus was/is morally accountable to God, designed for relationship with God and as an expression of the image of God, his life is sacred to God – whose purpose is for the Glory of God. Man rebelled against God’s reign, fell into sin, experienced spiritual and physical death, and in that sense is lost.
THE DOCTRINE OF THE APPLICATION OF REDEMPTION
The result of man’s fall is that all human beings are conceived with a sinful nature that leads them to sin. This is true of all men, and except a man be born again by the Holy Spirit he cannot see the kingdom of God. Salvation is the free gift of God, by grace through faith in Christ alone. Justification is a judicial act of God in which He declares a sinner, on the basis of Christ’s death and perfect obedience, to be forgiven of all their sin and to possess the full merit of Christ’s imputed righteousness. The retribution of the wicked and unbelieving and the reward of the righteous are everlasting and as the reward is conscious so is the retribution.
THE DOCTRINE OF SATAN
Satan exists, in a personal nature, along with evil powers and in the end they will experience everlasting punishment.
THE DOCTRINE OF THE CHURCH
The Church is the company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one Body, whose mission is to witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, preaching the gospel among all nations. It will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air upon His return, which is its blessed hope. Jesus Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of His death till He comes. Water Baptism is a testimony of the believer’s union with Christ in His death and His resurrection as well as with all true believers who constitute the Body of Christ.
THE DOCTRINE OF MARRIAGE AND SEXUALITY
God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is immoral and therefore sin. God created the human race male and female and that all conduct with the intent to adopt a gender other than one’s birth gender is immoral and therefore sin.
